How Tipping Works In Ridesharing Apps
Recently, there are countless of individuals who’ve been getting to difference places by using ridesharing services. Through our smart phones, ridesharing services become so accessible, making it convenient to use. Making payments for the trip using credit card from your device is relatively a new concept. It is somewhat hard to imagine on the other hand to live without on-app payments. One question that a number of ridesharing users have in mind is whether they must tip their ride or not.
Many who are hailing a ride via this app think of this. We’ve been tipping waitresses, valets, baristas and taxi drivers so why not do it on ridesharing drivers?
When talking about the concept of ridesharing and tipping at the same time, many commuters get confused. Most don’t have much idea on how the payment process works. The truth is, people don’t have much idea with the payment procedures on the ridesharing companies. Because of this, it is worth to mention that it is straight from the application where the payment procedures takes place. With this in mind, passengers often assume that the tip is already included in their fare price. Others however don’t have ideas that they’re allowed to tip. While tips aren’t mandatory, but this is all welcome and as a matter of fact, the tips can either make or break the driver’s income.
Well the thing is, some of the ridesharing apps don’t have a clear policy for tips. This is basically where confusion of the passengers enter. Because the service charge is included already and the site isn’t mentioning to tip, people do not know if the driver is expecting a tip.
Like what discussed earlier, it is worth to mention that most think that the tip is included in the final bill already. Commuters think that some of their bill is for the tip, that it’ll go to the driver directly. There are different real life exchanges between the drivers and passengers underscoring the argument that many are getting confused to whether the matter of tipping included, appropriate or required. As you are about to pay for your ride, you must clarify your final bill and to what comes with it.
Regardless, these drivers are real professional and will take no hard feelings in case you don’t give any, so whether you tip or not, that won’t be an issue. Well of course, it makes them feel glad if you do. Ridesharing apps give you a more convenient trip to and from the destination you desire while staying away from traffics because these drivers are familiar with the road and know the fastest way to get there.
